They Say blog post image of a man with his two fingers in his ear

They Say.....

Do you ever catch yourself saying they say: things like they say that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. They say you can’t get out of debt, debt is normal; everyone is in debt. They say you need $1 million in order to retire. They say where you’re from, you can never get ahead ...

Who in the heck are they?

My life is a living example of the opposite of what they say. I grew up in true poverty. I bought food with food stamps, and I ate government cheese. Through hard work and an education, I worked my way up to the middle class then....
I found myself in $250,000 of unsecured debt in addition to a huge mortgage and two kids in college then....
I was as broke as a joke!

There is a much greater power then they say. They Sayers live in fear which is False Evidence Appearing Real. They don’t want you to move up or surpass them financially. They want you to stay stuck in debt and in doubt. When we operate in debt, we are moving in fear and in lack of knowledge.

They believe in “Yolo” (you only live once) or We’re living our best life, ain’t going back-and-forth with you. Debt and fear prey on our financial futures. Many are afraid of missing out on a fun opportunity, so they party and travel like rock stars, with financial abandon. We must save or prepare for the future.

Fear is the predator; a predator is an animal that naturally preys on other animals or a person or a group that ruthlessly exploits others. We were not given a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. The only way to overcome fear is with faith, facts, financial education and aligning yourself with folks that know better and do better.

Don’t be a victim of financial stereotypes. Fight for your financial future, fight for your families, and fight for generational wealth. Fighting ensures that when it’s time to retire, you’ll have all the resources you need to enjoy it.
